- Modersohn constantly checks its incoming goods and can also take random samples at any time, also during production, for the purpose of material testing.
- Testing with the Niton fluorescence device are extremely precise and non-destructive.
- The fact that the device is mobile means that tests can also be carried out in-situ at the building site or at the customer's factory.
Mobile material analysis for East Westphalia
Fast service for customers and suppliers
We have now added an innovative new product to our already comprehensive customer services: Our mobile test device can determine the composition of stainless steel. Any query regarding material quality can be clarified in no time at all.
This innovative technology from the USA, developed especially for NASA (tried and tested in the Mars robot!), operates with X-rays. The "Niton" device quickly and precisely determines chemical elements in metal alloys (in the element range titanium-uranium) and provides the relevant data at the touch of a button.
We can test sheet metals, wires, tubes and welded structures incl. weld seams. The standard elements for the test are as follows: Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Re, Pb, Bi, Pd, Ag, Sn.
It does not analyse any other elements present, such as Alu, C, P, S and Si.
It goes without saying that this type of innovative device is extremely costly. We invested in this device for quality assurance purposes during our incoming goods inspection, e.g. in order to enable the unambiguous identification of lean duplex steel. Then we had the idea of leasing the test device as a "mobile task force". The option of leasing this device complete with operator offers our customers an extremely cost-effective alternative if procurement of such a device is not economically viable.
Numerous companies across East Westphalia have already taken advantage of this simple Alloy Analysis / Positive Material Identification option, which is simple to order either by phone or e-mail. Please contact us for further details!
